Description
The project comprises the works for the upgrading of the double/triple railway corridor Piraeus – Athens – Treis Gefyres, approximately 13.5 km long, of the railway stations on the section (including the main Athens Railway Station), as well as the installation of a modern electrification system. Technical characteristics: Section length: 13.5 km Design speed: 80 km/h The project aims at the modernisation of the Piraeus – Treis Gefyres railway corridor, contributing to the increase of its capacity, so that it can accommodate both suburban and intercity transport traffic.
