Services on the Thessaloniki – Edessa – Florina line begin on 30 May 2026

Hellenic Railways announces that new services on the Thessaloniki – Edessa – Florina line come into effect on 30 May 2026, following the traffic planning process and the necessary arrangements with the railway undertaking Hellenic Train.

The new timetable strengthens rail services in Central and Western Macedonia, with passenger trains connecting Thessaloniki with Veroia, Naousa, Edessa, Amyntaio and Florina. The new set of services includes a daily connection between Florina and Edessa, as well as additional Thessaloniki – Edessa services. Particular care has been taken to ensure full radio communications coverage on the Thessaloniki–Florina section of the network.

The Chief Executive Officer of Hellenic Railways, Christos Paliós, stated:

"The resumption of services to Florina is a further step towards upgrading the operation of the railway network in Northern Greece, as part of our joint effort with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. Our aim is to make better use of the existing infrastructure, to strengthen rail services for local communities step by step, and to shape a more reliable, safe and functional network for the public."
